Twitturly Review

Twitter has been known not only for its social updating feature but also because of its capability to generate conversations. With this, stories can travel through Twitter. But measuring how popular a particular story is on Twitter may be hard if you do not have the right tools.

With this comes an idea from Joel Strellner (@jstrellner) who is the founder and CEO of Twitturly. It is revolutionary for it has fused Digg which tracks the most popular stories with Twitter.

What does this track?

It tracks the URLs that are tweeted across the twitterverse so people can see the most popular stories. There are also tabs at the top where you can filter the content that you see to include everything or only see twitpics, videos or just plain news.

How is this site useful?

This website is useful in two ways. (1) It is useful for people who want to see the latest popular stories from Twitter and (2) It can be used to generate buzz and more tweets about a particular matter.

Disadvantages I have found

The problem I have found in this website is that it is not really an effective tool for your own viral marketing campaign. While it is helpful for media people who are looking for new stories, it may not be as helpful for people who are looking to promote their own products or services. Only the established brands have a chance in topping this website.

Overall

Twitturly is a unique idea and with this, it provides ease for people who are looking for new stories. Twitter is a viral tool and this website has just made it more effective
