You may have been tired of a lot of Twitter Directories out there. But every Twitter directory is another venue for you to promote yourself as a Twitter user. And another player called Twitdir is here to play a game.

The page that will greet you will remind you a lot of Google. It is a search page only that you will be searching through Twitter users. The best part is that you can search within names, twitter usernames, locations and descriptions. And if you are really lazy, you can just choose to search everywhere. After clicking the search button, a list of people will come out based on how relevant they are to your search term. Here is an example of the results page where I used “social media” as the keyword.
Getting Listed
Getting listed is easy. All you need to do is click “add twitterer” in their top navigation. From there, simply type your username and click “add”. They will automatically retrieve your details and there is no need for you to fill up a form.
The Good
What I liked about this site is that they have top 100 lists. They have a top 100 followed, top 100 updaters, top 100 favorites and top 100 followers. Results are also very relevant to the search term
The Bad
I do not know if it is just me but I did not figure out the secret to their rankings. Although I can say that they rank the more popular twitterers first, it seems that some people with few followers still rank high.
Overall
Twitdir is another directory you can use for your exposure. It has a clean white and blue design that is not only pleasing to the eye but also very social media-ish. I tested various terms and all the results are relevant. So if you really want to search for people to follow then this may be the best venue to start.
